are invited for a pot luck lunch. Please remember
that all children will be dismissed at 12 NOON on

Anthony, Ori and Micah in Primary 1
Surya and Taina in Primary 3
At this time of year we are talking about
celebrations around the world. We wish everyone a
safe and happy holiday and look forward to seeing
you in the New Year!
Happy Holidays from the Primary team.

What’s with all the decorations, catchy tunes and
festive spirit? What? Christmas is coming?!?! It’s
December?!? Well I’m glad we got lots of work done
before the holiday season kicks in. Plenty of math
and language has been completed by the students with
highlights being ‘read-aloud’ SRA groups run by Ms
Jennifer; the introduction of division to most of
the students, and our afternoon ‘talks’ that often
take on a life of their own. Ms Jennifer and I wish
all the children and their families safe and happy
holidays and look forward to seeing you all again in
the New Year.
Happy Birthday to Ferdinand, Shaun, Jesse,
and…well…..me!

LE1
We wish everyone a safe and happy Halloween! We
trust everyone had a fantastic time at the party and
we thank all parents, staff, and students who made
it a success.
LE 1 sends Kiana, Jordan, Kelly, and Diego very
Happy Birthday wishes in October and November.
Congratulations, everyone!
During the past month, our class enjoyed a fantastic
violin presentation. On November 20, we have a
representative from Environmental Protection in the
Caribbean (EPIC) coming in for a speaking
engagement.
On Oct. 30, we enjoyed our first outing to
Phillipsburg Theatre, to view the 1964 musical
classic, Mary Poppins. This will be a good
opportunity for our 11 Level 1 students to get
accustomed to the expectations for the school trips.
We look forward to another exciting outdoor outing
soon.
Just a reminder that Mon. Nov. 11 is a Professional
Day for staff – no school for children. The school
is closed for St. Maarten Day on Tues. and Wed. Nov.
12 and 13. See you again on Thurs. Nov. 14.
Ms. Elizabeth and Ms. Maureen
LE2
October has brought new discoveries, a week-long
holiday, and unfortunately, Hurricane Omar. I’m glad
that everyone came through the storm safe and sound!
The children were eager to share their
hurricane-related adventures with Ms. Wendy and me!
The class has been practicing several skills,
including arithmetic, reading, grammar and, of
course, grace and courtesy. The children enjoyed
this month's
Star Wars Halloween party, and so were treated to a
partial viewing of the 1977 film "Star Wars: A New
Hope." The class also tried out their culinary
skills baking cupcakes. Ms. Kate and former
Montessori student Max de Vrieze gave a lovely
presentation in which the children learned about the
violin and listened to duets. November promises to
be a month of further academic discovery and
community-building.
Birthday wishes go out to: Garway, Oct. 3, Alyna
Oct. 12, and Kaylie, Oct. 14.
Ms. Lisa and Ms. Wendy
LE 3
Wow, we're already into autumn....though Omar gave a
whole new meaning to that! After hitting the ground
running the class is still sprinting though lessons
and learning all sorts of new things. Highlights
include lessons on the solar system and algebra (yes
it's a highlight for all three levels) and Level 3
students are even learning how to make a movie!
Several more projects (including a field trip to Sea
World Explorer) are set to be completed before the
Holiday Break, so the students will have fun stories
to share over the vacation. We enter November with a
Happy Birthday to Ferdinand!

UE1
December is a short month! UE 1 is very busy with all of the
traditional, seasonal preparations:
The children are putting together another wonderful holiday
show. All is original (and straight from the students) -- from
scripts to props to special effects. They will be performing
Tues., Dec. 9th at 7:00pm -- don't be late!
During school hours we will be going to see Motions' rendition
of The Nutcracker on Thurs., Dec. 11th as a special holiday
treat!
On Fri., Dec. 12 we will end the term with a UE 1 community
feast. Each child will be contributing one of their favorite
party foods. What a wonderful way to end 2008!
The students have been asked to continue to read half an hour
daily, and record their reading in the back of their agendas.
Please make sure to sign the record of their reading homework.
Have a lovely Holiday break -- see you in 2009!
Ms. Kate and Ms. Ishnelda
